Heaps’ memoir, Proximity was released in 2023 through Clash Books. They have received support from Tin House, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and the Gullkistan Residency.

Heaps holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has lived and worked all over the world. They are home in Philadelphia and teach at Temple University.
